My latest article is about Edwin Rixon who lived in Hook Norton for a time before settling in Banbury. He was a well regarded citizen of the town in later years.

Seen in Bordeaux
We enjoy cruising and it is interesting to see other ships and private yachts on our travels.
Whilst we were in Bordeaux recently this luxury private yacht was berthed close to our ship.
Needless to say Bordeaux in one of the main wine centres of France and whilst on a walk around the city I came across this display of wine bottle sizes in a shop in Passage Sarget.
Holiday Summer 2019
We are doing a river cruise for the first time this year sailing up the Rhône from Arles to Beaune before finishing in Paris. A change from ocean cruises, in a way more relaxing but not long enough in some places. This morning we were in Tain l’Hermitage but only had 2 hours there before we set sail for Viennes. Actually it was more than 2 hours but who wants to go out when we arrived at 3am!
Have seen some interesting things so far from posh cars in Cannes – how the other half live to vineyards in the hills bordering the river bank.
